Three stranded sailors aboard the sailing yacht Zion were rescued by the crew of Genco Burgogne, a bulk carrier ship, east-northeast of Bermuda on Feb. 3. The three sailors were about 50 miles from Bermuda when they sent out a distress call but had to wait 36 hours before the carrier ship crew arrived. Footage below shows the rescue operation that ensued once Genco Burgogne arrived. The three sailors were provided with food, dry clothing, and first aid after surviving freezing weather and rough seas. The sailor’s yacht, Zion, was left to drift. Watch the footage here.
