Mirazur Capital, an alternative investment management firm based in Monaco, has become the majority shareholder in Marina Port Vell. Marina Port Vell is one of the Mediterranean’s leading superyacht marinas and has undergone a transformation period since 2021, investing more than 20 million euros to expand its capacity for large vessels and raising its quality, operational efficiency, and sustainability standards. Mirazur Capital will retain the current management team at the helm of the marina. “The involvement of Mirazur Capital is a recognition of the work carried out by the whole team over recent years and gives us the means to continue growing, whilst maintaining the excellence that defines us,” said Ignacio Erroz, general manager of Marina Port Vell. “It demonstrates the strength of the model developed in Barcelona and the capacity of a marina integrated into its surroundings to become an international benchmark. We are embarking on this new phase with the ambition of consolidating Barcelona’s position as one of the world’s leading centers for the sector and spearheading the development of the platform.” The acquisition is a milestone in Mirazur Capital’s strategy of investing in premium marinas, with its focus set to acquire and develop high-waulity assets. Marina Port Vell’s 400-meter quay accommodates vessels up to 190 meters in length. “It is rare to have the opportunity to invest in a truly irreplaceable asset: a unique location in the heart of Barcelona, an internationally renowned brand and an extraordinary team. The acquisition of Marina Port Vell strengthens our superyacht marina platform and our growth strategy in the Mediterranean,” said Marcos Pellejero Ibáñez, managing partner of Mirazur Capital. “Our approach combines a long-term vision with the ambition to raise industry standards, drive its professionalisation and establish it as an institutional asset class.”
