Chris Cecil-Wright, founder of Cecil Wright & Partners, is suing Nik Storonsky, co-founder and chief executive of Revolut, for €17.5 million over a superyacht deal. The superyacht brokerage claims it suggested to Storonsky that he buy the 102-meter M/Y Nixie which was being built by Lürssen in 2025, according to the Financial Times. However, Cecil Wright & Partners claims that Storonsky went behind their back to avoid paying commission on the €350 million yacht, with Storonsky buying the yacht directly from the seller in January 2026.
The London-based brokerage filed the suit in London’s High Court and claims it is legally entitled to a 5% commission as the “effective cause” of the sale. Cecil-Wright told the Financial Times that it was the first time he has taken legal action against a client. Storonsky is the founder of Revolut, a global financial technology company that offers digital banking services.
