St. Lucie County Commissioners unanimously held their votes in what was scheduled to be a final decision between two bids to develop the Fort Pierce port property in Florida.
All five commissioners present requested more time to ask, and get answers to, questions about how Derecktor Holdings Inc. and Fort Pierce Yacht and Ship, LLC facilities would be run and how they would affect the community.
Representatives from both companies agreed to another meeting on Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. The meeting is closed to the public and will recordings will be available the following day.
Each group submitted separate bids to build and manage the business in the 290-acre port located about 40 miles north of West Palm Beach and about 100 miles north of Fort Lauderdale.
